 Lighthouse / Officer Changes / Deceased Notifications A polite reminder to update Lighthouse promptly where there has been a change of role / personnel.
It ensures important compliance information goes to the right individuals, which is an automated process dependent on party officers being listed correctly on Lighthouse locally.
We rely on this for the Electoral Commission’s register of chairs and treasurers, plus other urgent matters, such as data breaches, missing PPERA reports and donation queries.
Keeping databases up to date also prevents people being contacted in error and therefore reducing the number of complaints received at HQ.
Kindly relay this message to your Lighthouse superusers and ensure they are being notified by your team members of officer changes without delay.
In the unfortunate event of an officer / councillor / member passing away, please mark them as deceased on Connect and Lighthouse as soon as possible to stop mailings going to loved ones who share their email address / use their account.

 Election Expenses A big thank you to everyone who was involved as an agent or helping election agents get their expenses in on time this year. 2027 will see local elections taking place in Wales, Scotland and many parts of England - often for new authorities.
You may want to enquire with your local council and see what election expenses were put in by other parties to gain some insight into what your opponents locally have been doing.
Election expenses are retained and available for inspection for two years. Spending returns, declarations and any accompanying documents are available for inspection. The fee for making copies is fixed at 20p per side of paper.
In the Autumn, we will be starting a new program of election agent training for 2027. As we did this year, we will record modules so people can watch them at their convenience. Look out for more information in future emails. | |
