Outgoing Chairs and Treasurers still have joint legal responsibility for the period they served. | | | Happy New Year! Welcome to new officers and thank you to those for their work last year. We have a variety of things coming up to support you, so keep an eye out for our emails. Next month also sees the return of the February Compliance Challenge, our bitesize training programme. | December PPERA Return The December donation report is due in by 10th January (including nil returns). If you haven’t submitted your report yet, please do so urgently.
Donation queries: Lighthouse issues: | Lighthouse Have you notified HQ who your superusers are for the new year?
You can do this by either:
1. Using the “duplicate all roles” button on Lighthouse (> Roles > System Users), or;
2. Emailing membership@libdems.org.uk | Are your 2026 officers listed on Lighthouse?
Superusers need to do this urgently so role-holders receive important information.

| | Change of Treasurer? See our handover guide for new / departing Treasurers. The 2025 officer compiles the accounts; the 2026 Treasurer gets them approved by their exec before emailing to the Compliance Team.
Deadline for submission: 15 March 2026 (or draft version for accounts over £250,000, followed by professionally audited version before 31st May).

This is good practice because regardless of your role, you’ll be handling personal data in some shape or form.
Also, the person responsible for personal data in your party / group should complete the Data Protection Checklist if there has been significant changes in personnel / processes.
